An Iranian Islamic Republic delegation has gone to New York to attend the UN General Assembly, but this trip comes with restrictions on movement as well as restrictions on purchases.

The U.S. government says that diplomats and officials of the Islamic Republic must obtain permission to buy from wholesale stores. The purchase of many luxury goods is also not possible without prior authorization from the U.S. State Department.

The U.S. State Department had previously said it would not allow Islamic Republic officials in New York to go shopping, while people in Iran are facing poverty and water and electricity shortages.
