Beta Sadekian, a singer and music teacher from Isfahan, says that, recalling her summons and interrogations due to her artistic activities and the cover of the song “Qahr va Naz,” even after emigrating she sometimes wakes up in anxiety and sees the “interrogation and humiliation table” in her dreams.

She named as her interrogators people with the names “Aqamirzayi,” “Kaghdzarān,” and “Al-Daoud,” and said that one of them played the song several times on her mobile phone and shouted at her angrily. IranWire independently cannot verify the details of Sadekian’s account regarding how the interrogation was conducted and the identities of the named individuals.

In Esfand 1403 (March 2025), after videos of her singing were posted on social media, Sadekian was summoned to Branch 25 of the Public and Revolutionary Court Prosecutor’s Office in Isfahan. The charges against her were announced as “offending public chastity and disseminating indecent works through computer systems.”

Sadekian now says that after questioning, court proceedings, and the issuance of a ruling, she left Iran: “Now that I have emigrated and I’m in a safer place—better to say, after those interrogations and rulings and the court visits, I fled my homeland; even now, sometimes I jump awake from sleep with anxiety.”
