🔸 Chamran: There is a possibility for military bases to leave Tehran

Mehdi Chamran, head of the Tehran City Council, on Sunday, 18 Mordad, announced the “submission of a proposal by the Urban Planning Commission to build secure urban spaces and to strictly observe the requirements of passive defense in new construction.”

According to the state news agency IRNA, Chamran, at the sidelines of the 422nd session of the Tehran City Council, said to reporters that the municipality’s actions in wartime conditions, like previous sessions, are being reviewed. He said: “The urban planning and architecture commission has presented a proposal regarding the municipality’s action to build secure urban spaces and to observe the requirements of passive defense in building construction, in which technical issues have been given due attention.”

He added: “This proposal covers a broad space, including the metro.”

In another part of his remarks, the head of the Tehran City Council, referring to the status of the “06 base,” said: “A large part of this project is ready. Its green space is at the disposal of the municipality, and it has been decided that it be used as an urban green space.”
