🔸The commander of Law Enforcement in Shahinshahr and Meymeh reported the discovery of 41 gazelle skulls from a water-well ring and the arrest of two illegal hunters.
🔸According to the report by Mehr News Agency, Ehsan Badieian said on Saturday, 31 Mordad, that police investigations have shown that after hunting protected species, the two men slaughtered the animals and sold their meat illegally, and in order to eliminate remains of the carcasses, they threw parts of the gazelles’ bodies into a well.
🔸He said that, in initial investigations, the suspects admitted that over the past year they had hunted more than 50 gazelles in protected areas.
🔸Police also said that the heads of male gazelles with antlers were sold for taxidermy, and the heads of female gazelles without antlers were thrown into the well.
🔸A case has been filed against the two suspects and they have been introduced to the judicial authority.
