🔶 Gulf Cooperation Council condemns Houthi attack on Saudi Arabia’s Najran

Jassim Mohammed Al-Badawi, the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, condemned the Houthi attack on the Najran region of Saudi Arabia on Friday, August 7, and said that the action demonstrates the group’s “criminal conduct.”

Al-Badawi described the attack as “treacherous and cowardly,” adding that targeting civilians and non-military infrastructure violates international laws and international humanitarian law.

He stressed that those responsible for the attack must be held accountable.

The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council said, announcing the council’s “full support” for Saudi Arabia, that the attack threatens regional and international security.

Al-Badawi emphasized that the security of Saudi Arabia is not separate from the security of other member countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

The statement was made after the Houthis in Yemen took responsibility for an attack on a target in the Najran region, near the Yemeni border.
