🔸 The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy says it has targeted another oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz, and that the tanker stopped after the fire.

🔸 In a statement published early on Friday, September 27, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps identified the tanker as “Trand” and said it was moving under the flag of Togo. According to the IRGC, the tanker was targeted while attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.

🔸 Before the IRGC statement, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) organization reported that a security incident had occurred in the Strait of Hormuz, about 30 kilometers northeast of the port of Salalah in Oman.

🔸 The organization did not provide details about the vessel that was targeted, and it is not clear whether this is the same vessel the IRGC referred to.

🔸 The IRGC says it controls the Strait of Hormuz, but the United States, rejecting the IRGC claim, says that the daily passage of various tankers and ships through this strategic waterway is carried out with the guidance and monitoring of the U.S. military.
