Sen. Jeanne Shaheen: Putin wants us to wait until we get tired

🔸A broad package of sanctions against Russia has been placed on the path to the White House for approval by Donald Trump, the President of the United States.

🔸Sen. Jeanne Shaheen tells Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty that the aim of this law is to reduce Moscow’s energy revenues and increase pressure on countries that buy Russian oil and gas.

🔸In this interview with Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, conducted on Thursday, Shahrivar 26, she also spoke about Ukraine’s urgent military needs, the outlook for diplomacy, Russia’s hybrid war, and security risks in the Balkans.

🔸According to Ms. Shaheen, the new law does not only target Russia’s financial sector, the oligarchs, and the circle of Vladimir Putin’s associates who help sustain the war; rather, it also targets the revenue that funds the war—namely oil and gas revenue.
