An explosion of a bomb-laden vehicle at the entrance of a mosque at the police headquarters in the city of Kohat in northwestern Pakistan left at least 15 dead and more than 50 injured.

🔸 According to local officials, the suicide bomber on Friday, 27 Shahrivar, drove a vehicle packed with explosives into the entrance of the Kohat mosque while worshippers, including police officers, were gathered for Friday prayers.

🔸 No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.

🔸 The regional affiliate of ISIS and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) are both active in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and nearby areas close to the Afghanistan border, and have repeatedly targeted security forces.

🔸 Violence in Pakistan’s border regions has increased in recent years. Islamabad accuses the Afghan Taliban government of allowing militants to use Afghan territory to plan attacks in Pakistan. Taliban officials reject this claim.
