🔻Joint statement by foreign ministers of Turkey, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan in support of Riyadh against the Houthis

Turkey’s, Egypt’s, Saudi Arabia’s and Pakistan’s foreign ministers on Tuesday said in a joint statement that they “recognize Saudi Arabia’s right to defend itself within the framework of international laws” and stressed the need to maintain the security of shipping in the region; the remarks were made as attacks by Iran-backed Houthi forces in Yemen have increased.

The foreign ministers of these four countries, after a meeting on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, also expressed deep concern about the continuation of clashes in the region and said that dialogue and diplomacy are the only path to achieving a sustainable solution.
