🔻Niloufar Shadmehr, Iran’s cultural attaché, was expelled from France
Iranian media have reported that Niloufar Shadmehr, Iran’s cultural attaché of the Islamic Republic of Iran, has been expelled from France.
According to Mehr News Agency, during her tenure, Ms. Shadmehr held artistic events and Iranian–Islamic exhibitions and tried to present a different image of Iran and Islam.
Ms. Shadmehr has also written a book titled “Memoirs of the Envoy,” which includes “thirty memories of the challenges of her period of study and life as a veiled woman in Paris.”
Yesterday, France announced that it would expel two Iranian diplomats in the coming days.
Jean-Noël Barrot, France’s foreign minister, announced this on the social media platform X on Tuesday.
Mr. Barrot’s remarks were made one day after Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that two employees of the French embassy who had been involved in a diplomatic dispute in Tehran in Tir (the month in the Iranian calendar) would not be allowed to return to Iran.
