🔶 Possible resignation of Zolqadr; Pezeshkian confirmed the existence of “differences”

Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of Iran, in the margins of his meeting today with journalists, alongside some members of the fourteenth government, reacted to reports about the possible resignation of Mohammad-Baqer Zolqadr, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council.

He said, on August 17, after the end of this press conference, in response to a question about Zolqadr’s resignation, with an indirect confirmation of it: “Some differences have been raised, which we are trying to resolve.”

Mohsen Hajimirzaei, head of the president’s office, also avoided giving details on the matter and told the reporter from Khabaronline: “Whenever an order is issued, you will see it.”

Fatemeh Mohajerani, spokesperson of the fourteenth government, also said she was unaware of the story of Zolqadr’s resignation, and Mehdi Tabatabaei, deputy at the president’s office, also declined to respond.

Khabaronline writes: “In addition, some accounts from government members indicate that Zolqadr’s resignation pertains to the early days of his appointment and is not a new development. Also, Mohsen Rezaei and Mustafa Pourmohammadi are among the serious options to replace Zolqadr.”
