🎥 Reactions to remarks about Mahsa (Zhina) Amini; member of the Islamic Consultative Assembly apologizes
Ahmad Aryianejad, a member of the Islamic Consultative Assembly in Iran, apologized for his recent remarks about the death of Mahsa (Zhina) Amini. He had previously said in a televised debate: “Mahsa Amini has attained the truth.”
His remarks were met with harsh criticism from Mahsa’s father and mother, and they wrote in a message published on their personal Instagram accounts: “May your tongue be severed for what you have done to a country—killing it into the truth—without not even a shred of reason and wisdom, and not having even the slightest bit of shame.”
After a wave of criticism of his remarks, this member of parliament apologized by posting a video of what he had said, and stated that he had used an “inappropriate term” regarding Mahsa (Zhina) Amini and apologized to her family.
