🔻 Report of an “unknown projectile” hitting an oil tanker near Saudi Arabia’s Yanbu port
The UK Maritime Trade Operations agency said that an oil tanker, 63 nautical miles west of the port of Yanbu in Saudi Arabia, was targeted by an unknown projectile, which led to a fire on the ship’s main deck.
The agency said that all crew members are in full health and that no environmental consequences have been reported.
The agency did not say which country the oil tanker belongs to.
After the Houthis in Yemen announced that, in retaliation for the Saudi blockade, they are imposing a reciprocal blockade, they attacked Saudi ships in the Red Sea.
The port of Yanbu in the Red Sea has also been the target of attacks, particularly attacks by the Iran-aligned Houthis.
