🔸Russian woman accused of killing her Ukrainian fugitive officer husband
A regional court in the port city of Sevastopol, the Leninsky District court, which was set up by Russian invading forces in the Ukrainian peninsula of Crimea, issued a two-month remand order for a 32-year-old Russian woman. On Thursday, August 13, “she killed a Russian military officer with a homemade bomb.”
The court referred to the woman only by the name “R.”
According to media reports, she is Margarita Rovit, a resident of Sochi, and the person killed was Shagiyef, a former officer of Ukraine’s navy who joined Russian forces.
In Ukraine, the 49-year-old Shagiyef was being pursued on charges of “treason.” It is said that he was the one responsible for the loss of the country’s only submarine.
The British newspaper “The Telegraph” and several Russian media outlets had previously reported that Rovit had worked as a biologist in a laboratory, that her details had been published on escort service websites, and that she also had a background in the tourism industry.
