🔸Sepideh Abtahi, a documentary filmmaker and editor of Iranian cinema, was released from Karachk Prison in Varamin after posting bail on Monday, the second of Shahrivar.
🔸This filmmaker, who had previously served as the secretary of the Iranian Documentary Filmmakers Association, was arrested on Tir 24 by security forces at her place of residence, and all of her personal electronic equipment—such as her mobile phone and laptop—was confiscated.
🔸Nearly a week after her arrest, Ms. Abtahi was transferred to Karachk Prison, and it was determined that the agency that detained her was the Intelligence Organization of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Despite this, the charge and reason for her arrest had not been announced.
🔸Ms. Abtahi has always been among civil activists opposed to executions and opposed to war, and in recent months, on her personal pages, including on Instagram, she had expressed opposition to war.
