🔻Sharp Jump in Currency and Gold Prices in Iran
Following increased concerns about intensifying pressure on Iran’s foreign trade, the prices of gold and currency in the unofficial market rose sharply. Each U.S. dollar rose by more than six thousand tomans at one point to reach 199,000 tomans. The price of each new-design coin also increased by 10 million tomans compared to yesterday, rising to 217 million tomans.
Scott Bessent, the U.S. Treasury Secretary, has promised to implement “unprecedented” measures to pressure Iran’s economy and is set to hold a press conference on this matter on Monday night (Tehran time).
