The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic said that the government of Japan is responsible for the use of facilities located on its soil.

Abbas Araqchi, in an interview with Japan’s Kyodo news agency, reacted to the dispatch of U.S. F-16 fighter jets from the Misawa base to the Middle East to attack Iran.

He added that peace-loving people in Japan should ask their government to explain this matter and hold it accountable.

Araqchi said that sending these fighter jets to attack Iran shows that the United States uses its military bases not to defend the host country, but to advance an aggressive policy.

Based on a report by the UK Defense Journal, F-16 fighter jets stationed at the Misawa Air Base in Aomori Province in northern Japan were transferred to the Middle East in Esfand and Farvardin, and took part in operations against Iran.
