🔶 The number of ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz has dropped to “five vessels per day”

Data published by the tracking company “Kpler” shows that the number of ships that passed through the Strait of Hormuz on Saturdays and Sundays (7th and 8th of Shahrivar) has fallen to five vessels per day.

On Monday (9th of Shahrivar), Reuters, citing Kpler data, reported that traffic on these two days was mostly limited to smaller ships. Among the ships that transited, two tankers carrying liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) were recorded: one of them departed from the Strait of Hormuz via Iran, and the other transited the area with its identification system turned off and is now heading toward India.

On Friday, the passage of 14 ships through the Strait of Hormuz was reported. One of these ships was a very large crude oil tanker carrying two million barrels of Qatar’s crude oil which, according to Reuters, left the area with a turned-off transmitter.
