🔻Washington Post: The CIA had doubts about the information Israel had given about Iran’s threat against Trump

The Washington Post, in a report, addresses the Central Intelligence Agency’s (CIA) doubts about a supposed threat from Iran against Donald Trump, and wrote that the agency had “not much certainty” about it before Donald Trump’s plane was changed in Turkey.

According to the newspaper, the CIA had doubts about the information Israel had provided regarding a threat against Trump in Turkey.

The information led Donald Trump to secretly change his plane in Ankara and leave Turkey on another military aircraft. He had traveled to Ankara more than a month earlier to attend a NATO summit.

In its report, the Washington Post quoted statements from current and former U.S. officials who say they are aware of the matter.

According to the newspaper, one official described the reports that Mr. Trump was at risk of being targeted during that trip as having “an Israeli, not American, origin,” and assessed it “with little confidence.”

Earlier, U.S. officials told CBS, a news partner of BBC News in the United States, that the United States had identified a serious threat from Iran to launch missiles at older Air Force One aircraft.

According to reports, Mr. Trump was moved to a smaller aircraft of the C-32A type using a food-catering compartment and an equipment-transport truck.

Based on the reports, at the time, American officials appeared to indicate that Mr. Trump was leaving Turkey on one of the older Air Force One aircraft, while he secretly transferred to a base in the United Kingdom and from there to the United States on a military aircraft.

According to reports, journalists and some White House staff believed that Mr. Trump was on the same older Air Force One aircraft that he boarded in Ankara in front of television cameras.
