🗣Your account: Living conditions under political repression and military tensions — Monday 9 Shahrivar

🔹My father is a retiree, with a salary of 16 million tomans, and rent for his home. At the age of 75, when he should be able to take care of himself and my mother more, he can no longer even buy meat and poultry. Fruit has been removed from their food basket for quite a long time.

🔹A simple ice-cream cake costs 100 tomans, and also a “Shilton” tuna can and two packs of Sahr bread for 460 thousand tomans.

🔹I went to the market and wanted to buy apples for my son. It said 150 thousand tomans per kilo, and I couldn’t.

🔹At 8:08 a.m. on Monday, 9 Shahrivar, I couldn’t log into the “Bam” system, which belongs to Iran’s National Bank—once again, theft started.

🔹Motorcyclists with guns are riding around the city streets to scare people, supposedly. But the era of fear is over, and this time people will fall on your heads.

🔹I’m a 17-year-old person with a nervous system illness. The medicines prescribed by the doctor are Iranian, but unfortunately even those can’t be found. Every six months we pay 47 million tomans for the doctor and the medicines. At home, we don’t have meat, poultry, or fruit. Because of me, my mom and dad are working, and I can’t even tell them to buy a school textbook anymore; one school textbook costs 3 million and 800 thousand tomans.

🔹In Mashhad, there’s no gasoline left. Right now I’ve gone to five stations, but they don’t give even a liter of gas without a ration card.

🔹I went to a Qasımabad Tehran gas station, poured 20 liters of gasoline, and then after 5 minutes my car turned off and wouldn’t start again. I took it with a tow platform to a mechanic. Now the engine is open—why? Because instead of gasoline, they had poured water into the car. Honestly, how much longer are you going to make the people of Iran miserable?

🔹Why is electricity cut off in regular areas every day— even on holidays— but in the upper-city areas where officials and members of the Revolutionary Guards live, electricity is cut at most once a week?
