🔶 A ship in the Strait of Hormuz was targeted by an “unknown projectile”
The UK Maritime Trade Operations organization reported on Tuesday, August 18 (27 Mordad) that a ship, while leaving the Strait of Hormuz, had been struck by an unknown projectile.
According to the organization, the ship’s engine room suffered damage and one crew member was injured. It was also stated that the Omani coast guard is currently providing assistance to the other crew members of the ship.
In addition to this, the UK Maritime Trade Operations organization said that no environmental damage as a result of the incident has been reported and that the relevant authorities are investigating the incident.
The attack occurred while the movement of vessels in the Strait of Hormuz is still facing restrictions and severe disruptions, and the number of ships passing through has fallen to a handful.
Before the start of the war between the United States and Israel with Iran, more than 130 ships passed through the Strait of Hormuz per day.
