An American official told Reuters that talks between the Islamic Republic and Oman about reopening the Strait of Hormuz have made progress and that the two sides are expected to reach an agreement soon. At the same time, Axios, citing a knowledgeable diplomat, reported that the Supreme National Security Council of the Islamic Republic is likely to approve the reopening agreement for this waterway soon.
