🔻 Islamic Republic newspaper: The rumor about Pezeshkian’s resignation was an attempt to prevent an agreement on the Strait of Hormuz
The Islamic Republic newspaper wrote in its editorial on Saturday that the dissemination of a fake report about the repeated resignation of Masoud Pezeshkian, the president of Iran, was carried out in order to prevent a “new agreement on how to manage the Strait of Hormuz.”
Without naming any specific individuals or groups, the newspaper also wrote that some people tried to lay the groundwork for stopping any negotiations and understandings by raising a request for the president’s resignation.
The Islamic Republic editorial says these efforts failed after Mr. Pezeshkian and the office of the leader of the Islamic Republic denied the resignation, but it warned that such actions
The article was published while reports indicate that Iran’s negotiators, in order to finalize the agreement with Oman and the United States, are waiting for the Supreme National Security Council’s approval.
