The chairman of the Association of Homogeneous Industries of Powertrain and Auto Parts Manufacturers, in an interview with the reporter of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), said that the total accumulated losses of Iran Khodro and Saipa have reached about 340 trillion tomans.

Mohammadreza Najfi-Mansh emphasized that this amount of debt indicates the depth of financial problems in the country’s automotive industry.

He, by referring to the review of the financial statements of the two automakers, cited the pressure arising from debt, accumulated losses, and lack of liquidity as the most important core challenges facing the automotive industry in the country.

This industrial figure also said that the price difference between cars in the factory and the market is another structural challenge of the auto industry, and announced that the figure for this gap is about 800 trillion tomans.
