One of the vendors in Tehran’s “Paitakht Passage” said that the market is quiet and business conditions are dire. Inflation and sharp price increases, alongside the continued fall in the value of Iran’s national currency, point to the intensification of economic pressure and the reduction of Iranian households’ purchasing power.
At the same time as the Islamic Republic’s military tensions with the United States have increased, on Tuesday the price of the dollar in Iran’s open market reached 213,700 tomans. Today’s figure is the fourth consecutive record in four working days.
