🔸 Gharibabadi: Caspian coastal countries should condemn Israel and Ukraine’s actions

Kazem Gharibabadi, Deputy for Legal and International Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Special Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in a message on the occasion of Caspian Sea Day, emphasized the need to protect this body of water and to respect the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of the coastal countries.

Gharibabadi said that all Caspian Sea coastal countries must openly condemn the actions of Israel and Ukraine in this sea.

He also called on the coastal countries to emphasize the necessity of respecting national sovereignty and territorial integrity.

In his message, the Iranian foreign minister’s deputy said that on 21 Mordad (Amordad) in the Caspian Sea calendar, it is a reminder of the entry into force in 2006 of the Framework Convention for the Protection of the Marine Environment of the Caspian Sea, known as the Tehran Convention.

He described this document as a symbol of the will of the five coastal countries to protect the world’s largest lake.

According to Gharibabadi, the Caspian Sea is not only an ecological asset, but also a shared heritage and the backbone of the livelihoods of millions of people living in coastal areas.
