Iran’s state TV has released images of a visit by Ali Abdollahi, head of the General Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces, to a underground facility for producing ballistic missiles.
He said that over the past year, Iran’s production has “increased by much more.”
In its report, Iran’s state TV says that since the start of the 40-day war, Iran’s production of suicide drones has “tripled.”
It has been reported that the visit by the head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces to this facility was “unannounced.”
Months after the start of the war, there is still no clear picture of how much military capability remains under the Islamic Republic. Parts of the defense industries and missile production facilities have been targeted, but independent figures on Iran’s stockpiles or the extent of damage inflicted on its arsenal are not available.
Some U.S. intelligence assessments, at least in the first months of the war, indicated that a significant portion of this capability remained intact. In early April, CNN reported, citing sources familiar with U.S. intelligence assessments, that about half of Iran’s missile launchers were still operational and that Tehran has thousands of attack drones at its disposal.
