Mehdi Mehdiyev-Azad said on the program “Eyedandaz”: “The Islamic Republic claims an attack on a supertanker and firing at ships that were passing through the southern route of the Strait of Hormuz, but the U.S. Central Command rejected this claim and said there is no evidence of such an attack.”

He added: “This is the second or third time that the Islamic Republic has made claims of an attack, but nothing like this has happened. They want to influence the global oil market and regional equations, but they don’t have the capability or the courage for direct involvement, and this trend is a sign of the decline in the Islamic Republic’s military capability.”
