🔸 Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Energy Announces Control of a Fire at Aramco’s Jazan Refinery
Bloomberg, citing Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Energy, reported that a fire at the Jazan refinery belonging to Aramco was brought under control in the early hours of Sunday, August 9. The ministry said that no one was injured in the incident.
The Saudi Arabia Ministry of Energy did not state the cause or extent of the fire. At the same time, in its statement, it said that industrial firefighting teams brought the fire under control, and that the relevant authorities are in the process of completing the necessary measures to deal with the incident.
It is still unclear whether the fire damaged equipment or caused disruption to refinery production. According to Aramco’s announcement, the complex has the capacity to refine up to 400,000 barrels of crude oil per day and produces gasoline, ultra-low-sulfur diesel, benzene, and paraxylene.
