🔻Shanghai Cooperation Organization: Member countries signed the “Bishkek Declaration”

The participating heads of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit “Bishkek Declaration on the 25th anniversary” established it and signed 27 other cooperation documents.

Among the signed documents are regulations related to the Global Center for Countering Challenges and Threats to the security of the member countries, and an action plan for the development of ports and logistics centers of the organization’s member states up to 2030.

The member countries also signed a statement on strengthening multilateral cooperation for nuclear security and a cooperation program to establish a “green technology corridor” over a four-year period.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization initially focused on economic issues, but in recent years, under the guidance of Moscow and Beijing, it has gained greater political importance.

In addition to the 10 official member states, 15 countries, including Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar, are present in the organization as “dialogue partners.”

The two-day summit was held in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.
