The main index of Tehran Stock Exchange registered a new historic record in today’s trading and for the first time entered the 5.6 million unit channel. This is the fourth record-breaking streak in less than a week.

Based on market reports, the shifting of liquidity from fixed-income funds to stocks has been the main driver of this growth. In the trading session on 14 Mordad, about one trillion tomans of real money entered the stock market and nearly two trillion tomans were withdrawn from fixed-income funds.

This growth comes as the Central Bank announced that the point-to-point inflation rate for Mordad is 83.9 percent and the dollar rate has reached 188,000 tomans. Capital market analysts say investors’ move into stocks to preserve the value of their assets against inflation is among the main factors behind this surge.
