🔻Trump: We will respond harshly to Iran’s attack

Donald Trump said that the United States will respond to Iran’s attacks on U.S. bases in Jordan.

Speaking in a phone interview with Fox News, the U.S. president said the country would respond with a “severe strike.”

Late last night, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said that, in response to U.S. attacks, it had inflicted “heavy damage” on “technical and repair infrastructure and the location of the enemy’s fighter jets” at two U.S. air bases, King Hussein and Al Azraq.

Mr. Trump said that U.S. forces allowed one of the missiles to pass through air-defense systems last night because the missile was not supposed to hit a target.

He said the other missiles were intercepted. In a statement, Jordan said it intercepted eight Iranian missiles.

The U.S. president also expressed hope that negotiations would resume:

He said: “They really want to meet with us. I just don’t know whether you can count on them to reach an agreement.”
