The U.S. State Department has confirmed the sale of 5,250 interceptor missiles for the Patriot system to Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates. Reuters reported that the purpose of this sale is to replenish these countries’ depleted air defense stockpiles.

Based on estimates by the Center for Strategic and International Studies, Saudi Arabia used about 86% of its 2,800 interceptors in the first 38 days of the war, leaving it with only 400 in Farvardin. The center says that other Persian Gulf countries have also used similar portions of their stockpiles.
