🔻«Volunteer activities in the service of war wounded» are among the new recruitment criteria for faculty boards at universities of medical sciences

The Deputy Minister of Education of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Ministry of Health said that «volunteer activities in the service of war wounded» are among the new criteria in the evaluation of applicants for membership on faculty boards at universities of medical sciences.

Tahereh Chengeez also said that these items previously played a smaller role in the scoring of applicants, but have been taken into account in the new bylaw for recruiting faculty members.

She, while referring to the fact that the changes are not «radical and extensive», emphasized that in the view of the Ministry of Health, «volunteer activities in the service of war wounded, groups in need, as well as training for lower ranks» are among the valuable activities in the evaluation of applicants.

According to her, individuals’ volunteer activities before joining a faculty board, including during military service, residency, and as students, can also be considered valuable in the evaluation of applicants.
