🔻 Iran’s national freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling teams for the juniors traveled to Turkey early on Tuesday, 10 Shahrivar, to obtain visas for the United States and participate in the Las Vegas world competitions.

🔹 The world freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling championships for juniors will be held in Las Vegas from 20 to 26 Mehr this year. Iran’s wrestling teams set off for Istanbul early this morning at 3:00 a.m. to obtain a U.S. visa, and then will travel onward to Ankara from there to apply for entry visas for that country. Iran’s wrestling delegation is about 40 people, including the wrestlers and members of the coaching staff. The members of the national team are scheduled to be present at the U.S. Embassy in Ankara today in order to pursue visas for these competitions.

🔹 Alireza Dabir, the president of the Iran Wrestling Federation, had previously threatened that if even one member of the team were not granted a visa, the team would not be sent. In this regard, Dabir said: «With refusing visas and various problems, they are just getting our team’s heads. Even now, I have announced that if the United States does not grant a visa to one of the members of our team, we will not send the team.»
