🔻 Iranian Foreign Ministry: The 10 Iranian fishermen who went missing in the Persian Gulf a few weeks ago are alive

The Iranian Foreign Ministry says the 10 Iranian fishermen who disappeared a few weeks ago in the waters of the Persian Gulf are alive, are in the UAE, and will soon return to Iran.

Mohammad Solaymani, head of the office of the Foreign Ministry’s representation in Hormozgan province, said today that the UAE informed the Iranian embassy in Abu Dhabi that 10 of these fishermen are in that country and can leave from there.

He said that regarding the fate of the other three fishermen who are still missing, “there is still no information.”

News of the disappearance of these fishermen was first published in late Mordad.

Witnesses had told Iran’s News Network that they were last seen near Siri Island.

Siri Island is among Iran’s southernmost islands in the Persian Gulf and is near Abu Musa Island.

In a report at the time by IRIB, it was said that unintended entry into the territorial waters of coastal countries is not an unusual phenomenon, but the “worrying” conditions of war had increased concern in this case.
