🔸 JD Vance, the U.S. vice president, said on Monday, in remarks to reporters, that Donald Trump, through a post on the social network Truth Social about turning Kharg Island, Iran’s energy hub, into “a pile of ash,” has been sending a message to Iran.

🔸 In response to a question about the post, Trump said: “The president sometimes likes to change his approach a little on social media. He’ll be the first one who will say that he doesn’t issue statements about military actions on social media, but I think he’s sending a message to Iranians.”

🔸 Early on Monday, Trump wrote in a short post on social media about Kharg and accompanied it with a video created with artificial intelligence.

🔸 In the meantime, on Monday, a U.S. official said that the U.S. Army had not targeted Kharg Island in its night raids.

🔸 Before the start of the U.S.-Israel war with Iran in the month of Esfand last year, Kharg was the loading and export hub for about 90% of Iran’s oil shipments, and an attack on this island could have severely disrupted Iran’s energy trade and imposed heavy pressure on the country’s economy.
